Profs. Carlson and Manfra elected APS Fellows
Professors Erica Carlson and Michael Manfra were elected by the APS Council of Representatives as Fellows of the American Physical Society. Fellowship in the APS is limited to no more than one half of one percent of the APS membership and is in recognition of outstanding contributions to physics.
Prof. Carlson was recognized “for theoretical insights into the critical role of electron nematicity, disorder, and noise in novel phases of strongly correlated electron systems and predicting unique characteristics.”
Prof. Manfra was recongnized "for advancing MBE growth of AlGaAs/GaAs and AlGaN/GaN heterostructures that enable fundamental understanding of 2D electron correlation effects and realization of novel devices.”
Together they join fellow Physics and Astronomy faculty members Daniel Elliott, Ephraim Fischbach, Laszlo Gutay, Yeong Kim, Sherwin Love, David Miller, David Nolte, Anant Ramdas, and Fuqiang Wang as APS Fellows.
